Worse yet, I'd been growing out my thumbnails at the time, so I ended up removing the right stick so I could actually hit the pause button consistently (I think I remember the wiring being pretty sketchilly held together when I opened it up too) I remember regularly bailing because I flipped before a grind, and the Dpad is so god-awful for quick motions I think it legitimately hurt me. I swear, I only played THPS4 on the PS2, and I immediately learned to hate the Dualshock. The only downside I feel like it has is flatland tricks, and Boostplants (grind and grab) And the grooves on the sticks were the perfect balance between the absolute directions for regular tricks, and the smooth motions for specials. Shuffling is piss easy when you don't have to worry about accidentally hitting flip or grab. Ollie being the central button, with all the airborne actions just a quick flick away, makes it feel like it was a controller designed for this game. The GameCube Controller was fucking perfect for THPS. ![]()
